Sorry if I came across as a total geek there, Admiral. But to answer your question, no, that doesn't do it. I would imagine this works with most mp3-playing software, but I have Itunes. When you have made the mp3 of your show, perhaps you go inside the file and edit the properties? Give it the right year, title, genre=podcast, etc? OK, after that bit I bet you've usually thought it ready to post.

Not so fast my friend. Open it in Itunes (or whatever). I can only talk for Itunes now....find your show image in Windows Explorer and "copy" it. Now, with the file playing in Itunes, right-click on the window that displays the file/cd artwork (it might be closed in Itunes, open the display if you have to) and "paste" your image file. This will imbed the artwork within the mp3, that way, any one in the world who opens the file will also see the artwork displayed! Good luck!
Ok, I tried that last night, and it doesn't work. Right clicking on the image area in either iTunes or WMP did nothing. Sad

Surprised That's an awesome name for a Chevette. Mine wasn't nearly as clever, but it was appropriate for this forum: My friends all called him the Blueberry Nerd Mobile (my 'Vette was blue, hence the clever first part of the nickname). I, however, dubbed him the Smurfmobile and often referred to him as Smurfy.

Yeah, that's another nerdy thing that I do on a regular basis: I give anthropomorphic qualities to all my cars. My current car is named Sammy Very Happy

First of all, HOLY SHIT, ORI!!!! That is getting carried away and is so uber Nerdy, I am speechless! Congrats, my friend, I idolize you!!!!

So, I've spent the last two hours organizing and getting this ready for online release:
CONSTANT IN OPAL

I've been the main organizer for two CDs related to my fave band, The Church. HERESY is a covers CD of Church songs (I was able to give the band their copies in person) and VOLUMES is a cd of original music by Church-influenced musicians. I now have both cds online for free download. Dig it!

Set up a playlist for an upcoming vacation with a long drive in it, and trying to find stuff that everyone can "live with" musically if not actually enjoy.
701 songs, 2,647 minutes ... I think I'm done ... I may be done ... well, probably not.

Oh, and I say that it is safe for everyone -- nothing by The Residents or You've Got Foetus On Your Breath, for example -- but I did put in "Chinese Astrology" by The Urbane Decay just to nerk my daughter. Here's hoping shuffle plays up something fun!

Today Mandi, our friend Shara and I took part in Round 1 of a telekinesis tournament. We made wax drip down our opponents' side of the candle from 3,000 miles away. We totally kicked ass. Our team is called Thinking About Moving.

"Dear Thinking About Moving,

The results for the first round, first session of the 2009 World
Telekinesis Competition have now been determined. I am happy to inform
you that your team, Thinking About Moving, has defeated Brain Elevating
Neurotransmissions. Please find attached the post-game image showing wax
distribution on the official gameboard.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing participation in the 2009
World Telekinesis Competition. The match schedule for the second round of
competition will be posted on Monday.

Again, congratulations. We look forward to round two.

kind regards,

Noxious Sector"

In addition to my Star Wars and Hitchhikers audiobooks, I have now added to my library about 25-30 books by the author Orson Scott Card (not sure how many yet!!) after hearing so much about Enders Game. I started this downloading at the same time as the others, but it was so slow its taken till now to complete. Now to go and tag them all and add cover art!!

I spent most of my day with my head stuck inside my English GCSE notes revising for my exam tomorrow. Only been 5 years after i last took it, pressure. And i have an operation on my eye after wards, not really on topic but still a stressful day to come.

I've just found out how to select multiple tracks on itunes. This will make adding album artwork and changing audio tags a hell of a lot better. Why did I not know this? I feel cheated for all the hours I've put in trying to keep it organised!! Whats wrong with click and drag?

I find self-promotion a nerd hurdle. That may seem funny to you lot since I do a fair bit of it. But it still makes me cringe. Anyway, in that case the nerdiest thing I've done so far today is tweet the link for a free download of my band Sister Ray's out-of-print album. Generoulsy sponsored by Mr. Tony. I suspect he's even included the artwork (?).

My pleasure, Renaissance Man. The artwork is embedded in the mp3s, yes. And if they desire the jpeg, any geek worthy of that name knows how to "save picture as" from a website like http://www.tonypucci.homestead.com/talented_friends.html where the cover is on display...

Believe it or not, I always feel super-lame when I do my own self-promotion...but then, who else is going to do it for you? So you just swallow that pill and hope that people connect with the person behind the flyers/newsletters/forum posts...

That's cool, if it weren't for the whole "homework" part.

On the other hand, if you had the necklace on while suspended from the ceiling by ropes so you could edit and update your thesis without touching the floor ... well that would be impossibly cool!

This actually happened yesterday.

I was filled with nerdy glee when, on a tour of Casa Loma, our tour guide said, "This room was used as Professor Xavier's office in the movie X-Men. His desk was right over there." All I could think was, I'm in a room that Patrick Stewart has been in! Wheee!

The nerdiest thing i've done today is figure out the mean, median and mode of the poll.

The nerdiest thing I did was leave for work early so Mandi and I could scoop up piles of reflective dust left on the side of the road from where they're painting new bike lanes. Something is going to sparkly sometime in the future.
