Re: Film Hurdles
Why shouldn't we be? I consider it a good thing; at this point, if you tell me to read/watch something, I just get it without finding out anything more about it.Mandi wrote:Okay, we're starting to creep me out. We should be less alike that we are. Shouldn't we?kumarhk wrote:I love Love Actually. I watch it all the time, in fact, I may watch it right now.
Re: Film Hurdles
I don't typically chose to watch romcoms but I don't have a hurdle with them unless they involve Kate Hudson or Dane Cook.

Re: Film Hurdles
That is a fair rule of thumb, Bucho.
Kumar, you shouldn't have let Mandi know she weilds this power. She's going to suggest all manner of bullshit for you to read.

I might like some of that bullshit though.Jakob wrote:That is a fair rule of thumb, Bucho.

Re: Film Hurdles
A film hurdle? TIM BURTON.
Believe me, I have thrown myself at this one. I sort of liked the BATMAN/BATMAN RETURNS and I was whole hog on MARS ATTACKS. The rest of it is all a chore.
I have seen it all.
It is all a chore. I don't get it. Jake posited that I am the least emo/goth person he knows...but I don't know if that is it.
ALICE IN WONDERLAND is coming up and I can't feel the hype. Everyone else in my immediate blast radius can though.
I absolutely detested SWEENY TODD. DETESTED. DESTESTED it so much that I felt de-testicled after watching the thing.
I just got off of a serious BURTON bender to appease a bunch of different people. I went in with a lot of hope and left it feeling that the Corpse Bride was amusing, but not worth the accolades. I enjoyed Coraline, but seriously...I hate these movies when they break out into song.
NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is one of the most overrated salutes to THE GRINCH THAT STOLE CHRISTMAS that I have ever suffered through. I saw it first run at some mall in Nanaimo, BC. Location might have been part of it but I hate that movie like a boil in my asscrack. It seems to be there to console a generation of kids who wanted to dress in black but couldn't get down with those tie-fighter troopers from Ep IV.
Someone help me.

Re: Film Hurdles
I still maintain that your are the polar oposite of Burton's demographic. You have never a) worn striped leggings or b) heavy eye make-up. I did both when I was hella into Scissorhands. He got me at my lowest, you might say, and kept me hooked. I'm pretty forgiving of the man. I keep trying to dislike his often mediocre movies, but I can't help it.

I've never done either, but I'm still a massive Tim Burton fan. There was a time when I called him my favourite director.Jakob wrote:I still maintain that your are the polar oposite of Burton's demographic.
