If Tony ever plays a Vulcan on TV, would he be called T'Puc? Or are the T'names reserved for Vulcan females only?

Actually, I can't see him as a Vulcan. A Klingon, maybe. Yeah, he and I could be Klingons. Anyone making a fan film in the near future? You know where to find us.

That sounds a bit too close to Tupac. Maybe he can be a rapping Vulcan?

I'm a green blooded stoic
I take logic and flow it
Never faulty; hot like balti
I got my emotions in a Halti
The Enterprise is where I work
and chill with my homies McCoy and Kirk
I never wreck, I keep it in check
But when it's pon farr
You betta hit the deck
I'll be a sulkin' Vulcan
More sorry-assed than Macauley Culkin
Gettin' intense, burning incense
Feeling more feels than Sulu can fence
Back in control, living large and long
prospering without hitting the bong

Spock's the word, sucka

Please, for the love of all things good and nerdy, make that the opening to the next episode.

Holy Spock, how did I miss this for the past week?!!?!?

Jakob, your lyrics were sublime.

Kennedy's right, I'd make a good Klingon.

I'd be good as a half-Human/half-Vulcan, if I could be the anti-Spock, and give in to my emotional urges all of the time. There could be some good episodes there about me being locked in a Vulcan insane asylum, or being expelled from the planet.

I'm also a total flirt; I'd make a great Commander Riker. I'll even grow the goatee back, upon request.

Speaking of Fester, we may go to The Addams Family on Broadway next year. Seemed like "it" was the "thing" to do.

Hi Igor, welcome to the NH forum! It's really cool to see you here; I've enjoyed your guest appearances on the Nerd Hurdles show with Mandi and Jakob! I hope you are keeping dry and warm underneath the sink.

I'm curious, do you speak, or do you know anyone who speaks, parsaltongue?

Cheers, Tony

I'm surprised he was able to say "parthaltongue" at all without choking on his own tongue in the process. Way to go Igor! Enjoy that raccoon pelt!

I think we need some Igor gear in the Nerd Store...

out of the closet....

Post  bailewen on Sun May 30, 2010 4:31 am

The nerd closet that is.

erm...ok...I live in China and am basically a martial arts nerd. My brother is a movie nerd so apparently it runs in the family. China is relevant because I am totally immersed in the language and get starved for Engrish...I mean English and podcasts saved my life and for some reason I have latched on to Nerd Hurdles, Starbase 66 and Dan Carlins Hardcore History Hour which I don't think is even simply syndicated but he made a guest appearance on the Starbase so I think he counts.

The Science Hurdles podcast pushed me over the edge and got me to check out the forums. Jakob and Mandi were going in about naming their lovechild "Batman" or letting him/her/it name him/her/its self batman an I just had to mention that up on the mountain where my mom and stepdad bought a house a few years back there is a nutjob....an I mean that in the absolutely most respectful way...who legally changed his name to Jesus Christ.

This seems to be the intro thread so I guess I should introduce myself.

I'm 40 years old. Growing up I was deeply into D&D, Tron and was even a theatre geek. In my senior year of high school I had already finished most of my graduation requirement so I was able to fill my schedule with electives. I took Theatre, Choir and for P.E. I took dance. In retrospect, I think much of my high school class thought I was gay. Nowadays I am an ESL teacher in China teaching mostly 7th and 8th grade with elementary school students one day a week. *shudder* I agree with Mandi that middle schoolers are the coolest. It helps that I was also a video game geek and back when I had my own office a few years back I used to spend my lunch breaks playing either Street Fighter or Tekken 3 on my laptop with the students.

What other nerd cred do I have...

I watched all of DS9 online this year, used to be hooked on Next Gen back before I came to China and am working my way through season 6 of Voyager. When I was in the 6th grade my nickname was "Space Ghost" and I can geek out on late 70's kung fu movies like nobodies business.

Ok, so basically I am starved for English conversation and am always lol'ing through most Nerd Hurdles podcasts with the instinct to keep interrupting your guys but then I remember it's a podcast and that podcasts are not interactive.

Whatever. Thanks for all the entertainment. Nerd Pride was a good episode too. I definitely spent too many years trying to get away from my inner nerd.

Peace.

edit:
I forgot to post my actual name which is Omar. I use bailewen to avoid confusion on other forums. That is my Chinese name. I try to keep the same user name on all forums so that I don't forget which name I used on which forum.

Welcome, Omar!!!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the show, and that you're as big a nerd as we are. Yay! Nerd pride!

You may find this forum a little dead, as after we joined Simply Syndicated we had a forum there, and this one fell by the way side.

You'll also find the Starbase gang and their forum over there too.

Here's the link to the Nerd Hurdles section:

Please come and join that forum, you'll be in good nerd company.
